Learning Disability Units

We currently operate two units – one at Hatherleigh and the other at South Zeal where our aim is to support those people with learning difficulties.  The central location of our units enables the residents to integrate into the community and our training and life skills programme encourages them to lead a full and active life.

LINK
LINK represents the amalgamation of Lyndridge Care’s two Supported Living Units for people with learning difficulties, Oakleigh House in Hatherleigh and Mount Pleasant in South Zeal.

The name LINK was chosen as it embodies our commitment to every individuals on going self development through learning, enabling people to obtain information on which to base real choices, nurturing because we care about, and value, each individual, and assisting people to gain the knowledge and experience required, to achieve their chosen lifestyle.

Our Purpose
LINK recognises and endorses the rights of all individuals to live their lives in the manner of their choosing, and to be enabled to access learning and knowledge to fulfil their life plans.

We believe that by providing effective support systems within our assisted living units, we can effect real changes in peoples lives, and provide them with the opportunity to achieve, and maintain, a progressively independent lifestyle.

Our Aim
To provide housing and support for people with learning disabilities in a stimulating, domestic setting, encouraging independent living, and enabling them to lead full and active lives based on their personal preferences, by providing the means, support and assistance required to make informed choices.

LINK are committed to:

  • Encouraging independence
  • Preserving dignity
  • Personalising services
  • Enabling freedom of choice
  • Fostering individuality
  • Nurturing the spirit
  • Involving family and friends and the wider community in the process of  enabling people to achieve their life plan.

Our Staff
All support staff working within the LINK Supported Living units are employed by Lyndridge Care, and are subject to our employment criteria, policies, procedures, training requirements and objectives.  Whilst their work remit may vary, all staff are subject to assessment, supervision and ongoing training on an annual basis.
